FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How many days of annual leave are employees entitled to in Singapore?

Under the Employment Act, employees with at least 3 months of service get 7 days of paid annual leave in their first year, increasing by 1 day for each subsequent year of service up to 14 days from the 8th year. Many companies offer more than the statutory minimum.

How much sick leave do Singapore employees get?

After 6 months of service, employees covered by the Employment Act are entitled to 14 days of paid outpatient sick leave and up to 60 days of hospitalisation leave a year (the 60 days include the 14 outpatient days). Employees with 3 to 6 months of service receive a pro-rated entitlement.

Does HRMatters pro-rate leave automatically?

Yes. HRMatters pro-rates annual leave for new joiners and leavers, increases entitlement with years of service, applies carry-forward and expiry rules, and calculates leave encashment for final pay.

Can HRMatters track government-paid leave?

Yes. Maternity, paternity, shared parental and childcare leave are tracked separately, so you have the records you need when claiming reimbursement for government-paid leave.
